How do you make a portrait of a man that forbids you to talk about him? This was the challenge that Vassili Silovic took on when he decided to make a film about Philippe Starck. The world famous designer set his boundaries right from the start: his past, his professional career, his own design and design in general were all off limits. If the film were going to happen it would have to be all about the true spirit of the man and the inner workings of his mind. The gauntlet was set and after careful consideration Vassili Silovic responded by not only accepting but revelling in Starck’s challenge. The resulting film is a collaboration of two personalities swept along in one crazy project…
